The semi-permanent upgrade of the traditional brow tinting - Henna brows.

Henna tinting is basically a treatment that involves staining the skin and brow hair, simple as that. Henna is an all-natural powder made from the Hina tree, it has been used for centuries especially in the East - traditionally used for colouring clothes, fabrics, dying hair as well as face and body makeup. A tint like a product that your brow artist applies the colour to your brows and softly stain the skin to give the illusion of fuller brows. The application process is very similar to traditional brow tinting, however, the henna ingredients have a long-lasting staying power.

Henna brow treatments stain the skin for up to two weeks and dye the hair up to six weeks, lasting longer than your usual brow tint. Henna tinting is a great no-fuss option for natural, polished-looking brows.

“It’s not a dye that has peroxide like regular brow tinting. It’s all natural and derived from plants,” says professional brow artist Amy Jean, “Because it is all natural, it is safe to use on the majority of skin types.”

Similar to other brow tinting treatments, the henna will slowly lighten over the few weeks after your appointment and as your skin cells shed. Maintenance appointments or ‘top-ups’ are required every 4-6 weeks depending on your skin type.

To maintain your henna brows for as long as possible - Tahlia recommends avoiding strong skincare products like exfoliating cleansers and active ingredients like AHA’s, directly over the brow area, instead, keep your brows hydrated by applying moisturisers to the brow area daily, coconut oil and your everyday lip balm work well and keeps them looking fresh!

Henna is a great solution for people who struggle to achieve that full brow look and usually like to fill in their brows. It is especially good for clients with little or no hair on their brows.

Plus, it’s totally natural. If you’re looking for a cruelty free, suitable for sensitive skin type brow dye - henna is your go-to!
